This was a really fun painting to do. My mom lives on a lake and has lots of these fellas come and visit. They love to steal the bird seed she puts out for the red birds. They are really brave and don't even care if the dogs are out. It's really funny and enjoyable to sit and watch. I wanted to see if I could capture the iridescent quality of the blues and greens in the feathers against the water in this painting. Such beautiful creatures.
