While my friend was framing the big seascape, I got him to frame the bird painting I did on the 14 1/2 x 48 gessoed masonite. We decided on a dark stain for this one. I thought it would go lovely with the leaves and just finish it out nicely. I think I was right, of course! LOL

Hello again everyone,
After working over 100 hours last 2 weeks, I was exhausted and couldn't even think about anything but getting away for a weekend, not to mention not being able to focus enough to paint. I think I'm a sucker for punishment. LOL
I was able to finish a painting tho, before all that started. This is my dream beach. No phones, no tv, no interruptions...just water and quiet. Lovely idea, don't cha think?
This painting is a 30X40 on gessoed masonite and I had a good friend frame it for me. It's stained with a fruit wood stain that I think just sets it off beautifully.
I hope you enjoy looking at my impression of the greatest beach as much as I enjoyed doing it.
Bye for now,
Nina

Hello again everyone,
Wow, it's been hot! The heat index has been 126 degrees here in Louisiana. Unbelievable! Anyway, I finally finished the quilt I was working on. These are pictures of it. The person the quilt is for just graduated high school and these are the shirts she wore all thru her high school years. Different things that went on that meant alot to her. There are even a couple of badges she won during this time in her life and I put these in the quilt in different blocks. The border of the quilt is made of the uniform skirts she wore during high school. There was even one skirt she wore during art class that had paint stains on it. I put the stained fabric in the border. Ya know, memories!
I know it's not a painting but I hope you enjoy looking as this as much as I enjoyed doing it.
